Keith Shaw: Hi everybody, welcome to DEMO, the show where companies come in and show us their latest products and services. Today, I'm joined by Robin Bunevich, she is a Product Marketer at Zoom. Welcome to the show, Robin. Robin Bunevich: Thank you! Excited to be here.
Keith: All right, so a lot of people know about Zoom — or hopefully they do — but what are you going to show us today?
Robin: Yeah, today we're going to walk through a day in the life of a product marketer using Zoom AI Companion to get through their day. That day is filled with meetings, follow-ups, and finding focused time to complete deep work.
Being a product marketer myself, I know how it feels — it’s stressful. It’s hard to get everything done and remember all the tasks that come out of meetings.
With Zoom AI Companion, we like to think about the full meeting cycle: before the meeting, during the meeting, and after the meeting. Keith: Right. Robin: A lot of people think of Zoom as just that link they click to join a meeting, but really, there’s so much more.
We have chat, whiteboarding, phone systems — it’s a full work platform with AI at its core. Keith: And I think a lot of people just assume they only need Zoom during the meeting. They don’t realize how helpful it can be before and after the meeting, too. Robin: Absolutely.
It’s really for anyone who wants to show up at their best every day. Whether that means creating content, writing documents, building great relationships with colleagues and customers, or finding focused time to do impactful work — this is for you.
Keith: As you were developing these features, did you realize there were problems people were already struggling with — like wasted time or cognitive overload? Robin: Sure. It’s not hard to see that people are stressed at work.
The pace is increasing, there’s more to do, and we’re juggling a lot of tools. People want to streamline their day and automate routine tasks because that cognitive overload is real.
Employees want to do their work faster, attend meaningful meetings, and not worry about the follow-ups — they want AI to handle that. Keith: And on the other side, IT leaders have to decide which tools to deploy. Robin: Right.
They’re under pressure to prove ROI, reduce change management, and minimize the learning curve. They want tools that streamline workflows and make work enjoyable — not just administrative. Keith: And if companies don’t take advantage of these tools, they’ll just be stuck in a loop of repetitive meetings. Robin: Exactly.
We use the phrase “conversation to completion.” Every meeting generates action items, and Zoom AI Companion helps close that loop — simplifying your day so you can focus on what you love to do.
Keith: All right, we’re going to see a demo now and bring in your colleague. This is Josh Stanley. He is an AI Sales Specialist at Zoom, and of course — since this is Zoom — he’s joining us via Zoom. Hello, Josh. Josh Stanley: Hello!
Thank you very much for having me. Keith: All right, jump right into the demo. I’ll let you take it from here. Josh: I’m going to walk you through the three stages Robin mentioned: before the meeting, during, and after.
Before the day begins, our product marketing manager, Paxton, looks at his calendar. He can click on AI Companion to prepare for upcoming meetings. The system pulls in relevant information — previous meetings, chat messages, emails (integrated with Microsoft Outlook, for example) — and summarizes it.
It provides the meeting purpose, recent updates, and action items. That alone would improve most meetings — just knowing why you’re there and what’s changed. You’ll see task lists, including group assignments and specific tasks for the user.
From here, you can dive deeper or start prompting AI — like: “Help me create the marketing plan.” Keith: And you can attach documents as well, right? Josh: Exactly. I added the full project plan to the prompt.
You can integrate with Google and Microsoft platforms by authorizing them for additional context. AI then creates a detailed, comprehensive outline using Zoom’s internal data and the attachments.
You can copy that plan, convert it into a doc, create a reminder task, or share it to a chat channel — in this case, “123 Main Street.” Inside the chat, you can collaborate, thread messages, share files, and use AI Companion to extract insights.
For example, I can pull out recent messages or ask: “What are our differentiators for this project?” The AI searches through potentially hundreds of messages to identify and source those insights.
Josh: For example, I’ll click into an older meeting from June 18. I can view the summary or access the full transcript if it’s retained. Then I might prompt: “What ideas and decisions were made in this meeting?” — great for ensuring I incorporate colleague feedback going forward.
AI pulls content by individual and identifies the key decisions made. When Paxton is in a live meeting, the same side panel gives access to AI Companion. You can prompt: “What topics have been discussed?” — and it summarizes from the transcript.
You can go further and ask: “What ideas were covered?” or even: “What blind spots did we miss?” This helps identify potential risks we didn’t consider. You can also ask AI to suggest mitigation strategies. Keith: That’s the next level. Not just summarizing, but identifying what you didn’t talk about.
Josh: Exactly. This can also be done during a phone call or inside the Zoom desktop application. Keith: Is it available to everyone in a meeting, or just the host?
Josh: We give organizations the flexibility to deploy it however they want — just the host, everyone, or controlled by user permissions.
Josh: Now, after the meeting, we almost always need a follow-up meeting. You can ask AI Companion to find a time on both calendars. It checks availability, generates an agenda, and schedules the meeting automatically. Keith: That’s fantastic. Josh: It ensures action items don’t fall through the cracks.
AI identifies next steps and drops them into the Zoom Tasks tool, where users can accept, decline, or reassign them. Even after the meeting, I can go back, open the summary, and create a doc. I can use a pre-set template for project summaries or other meeting types.
This creates an endless canvas to collaborate — add video content, whiteboards, data tables — and keep engaging with AI. You could prompt: “Create a six-week project plan based on everything we discussed,” attach additional context, and Zoom will generate a full plan with due dates and task ownership.
If you want a table format, just change the prompt — and it’s ready to go.
Keith: Josh, great stuff. Let’s bring it back to Robin. How can people get access to this? Robin: Everything Josh showed today is available now. You just need a Zoom Workplace license — AI Companion is included. To learn more, go to zoom.com/zoomworkplace.
Keith: We’ll include that link in the description. Robin and Josh, thanks again for being on the show — great demo! Robin: Thanks for having us! Josh: Thank you! Keith: That’s it for this episode of DEMO.
