The City of London Corporation, despite the name, is a local authority. Also known as the Corporation of London it is the local government body for the Square Mile in London that houses many of the nation’s leading financial institutes. The City of London Corporation has three stated aims; promotion of London as a world leading centre for finance and business, local government services and providing services for the benefit of the UK, London and Londoners.
